Diverse People Groups In Calgary

Diverse People Groups In Calgary

Did you know that Calgary is quickly becoming the third most multicultural city in Canada? Or that the largest group of immigrants comes from the Philippines? The global movement of people is changing the ethnic, cultural and religious make-up of Calgary.

Calgary is home to an immense number of diverse people groups and we want to celebrate this diversity by highlighting some of the cultural groups found in this great city. Utilizing 2016 census data from the City of Calgary website, we are working on mapping differing neighbourhoods and wards. Check back for a map which will showcase several specific people groups (according to their spoken language) and the neighbourhood where the largest population of these people groups can be found in Calgary. In the meantime, click here to view our cultural communities page.

If you would like to conduct further research, you can find the census data at this website. We encourage churches to explore the diverse people groups in our city. We invite you to pray for the nations that God has brought to our doorstep. One way to do this is to pray for nations though Prayercast.
